A bill to amend the Interstate Commerce Act and the Harter Act in order to provide a more effective remedy for owners, shippers, and receivers of property transported in interstate or foreign commerce to recover from surface transportation companies subject to the former act, damages sustained as the result of loss, damage, injury, or delay in transit to such property.
Claims Adjudication Act - Provides, under the Interstate Commerce Act and the Harter Act, for the recovery by owners, shippers, and receivers of property transported in interstate or foreign commerce of claims against surface transportation companies subject to the Interstate Commerce Act, for damages sustained as the result of loss, damage, injury, or delay in transit to such property.
Authorizes appropriations of up to $3,000,000 for each fiscal year for the purpose of this Act.
