Federal Statistical Information Act - Establishes the United States Statistical Commission. States that the Commission shall have the primary function of establishing, coordinating, and executing a statistical policy for the United States Government. Transfers to the Commission those functions carried out by: (1) the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Department of Labor; (2) the Social and Economic Statistics Administration, Department of Commerce; (3) the National Technical Information Service, Department of Commerce; (4) the Statistical Reporting Service, Department of Agriculture; and (5) the Economic Research Service, Department of Agriculture.
States that neither the Commission, nor any other officer or employee of the Commission may: (1) use the information furnished to carry out this Act for any purpose other than the statistical purposes for which it is supplied; (2) make any publication whereby the data furnished by any particular establishment or individual to carry out this Act may be identified; or (3) permit anyone other than the sworn officers and employees of the Commission thereof to examine the individual reports.
Establishes within the Commission an Advisory Committee on Statistical Policy. States that the Committee shall advise the Commission with respect to the statistical policy of the U.S. Government.
Establishes a temporary Commission to make a complete study and investigation with respect to other functions and units of the United States Government that should be transferred to the United States Statistical Commission in order to carry out its functions and the purposes of this Act.
