A bill to apportion funds for the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways and to authorize funds in accordance with title 23, United States Code, for fiscal year 1974.
Directs the Secretary of Transportation to apportion $1,000,000,000 of the sums authorized to be apportioned for fiscal year 1974 for immediate expenditure on the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways.
Authorizes the appropriation of $500,000,000 out of the Highway Trust Fund for the Federal-aid primary system, the Federal-aid secondary system, and for their extensions within urban areas for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1974. Provides for the availability of such sums on a percentage basis.
