A bill to amend the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964.
Urban Mass Transportation Amendments - Increases from two-thirds to 70 percent the maximum share of the cost of an urban mass transit capital improvement project which the Federal Government is authorized to contribute to.
Increases the amount authorized for obligation for urban mass transportation improvement projects from $3,100,000,000 to $6,100,000,000.
Increases from two-thirds to 70 percent the share of the cost of technical study grant projects which the Federal Government is authorized to contribute to. Authorizes the Secretary of Transportation to make grants to State, local public bodies and agencies thereof, and private mass transportation operators to provide fellowships for training of personnel employed in managerial, technical and professional positions in the urban mass transportation field. Specifies qualified recipients.
