A bill to amend the Consumer Credit Protection Act to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex or marital status in the granting of credit, and to make certain changes with respect to the civil liability provisions of such act.
Equal Credit Opportunity Act - Revises the civil liability provisions of the Consumer Credit Protection Act.
Makes it unlawful for any creditor or card issuer to discriminte on account of sex or marital status against any individual with respect to the approval or denial of any extension of credit or with respect to the terms thereof or with respect to the approval, denial, renewal, continuation, or revocation of any open end consumer credit account or with respect to the terms thereof.
