National Tay-Sachs Disease Control Act - States that it is the purpose of this Act to establish a national program, under the Public Health Service Act, for voluntary Tay-Sachs disease screening and counseling and for reasearch in such disease.
Authorizes appropriations of $2,500,000 for fiscal year 1974 for grants to public and nonprofit entities to establish Tay-Sachs disease screening and counseling programs, and to initiate projects for research in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the disease.
Authorizes appropriations of $500,000 for fiscal year 1974 to enable the Secretary to carry out an educational program relating to Tay-Sachs disease.
