Directs the National Science Foundation to conduct and submit to the President and Congress a detailed study of emission control equipment and techniques which are or may be suitable for use in connection with the smokestacks of coal-burning powerplants, with a view to determining the feasibility of the development of an improved economical stack gas cleaning technology which will enable such powerplants to use high-sulfur coal without violating applicable air pollution control laws and regulations.
Authorizes appropriations of $100,000 to carry out this Act.
