A bill to extend benefits under 8191 of title 5, United States Code, to law enforcement officers and firemen not employed by the United States who are killed or totally disabled in line of duty.

Extends Federal injury and death benefits to all eligible public safety officers and their survivors. Defines eligible officer for the purposes of this Act as a person who is determined by the Secretary of Labor to have fireman by a State or a political subdivision of a State; (2) an officially recognized or designated member of a legally organized volunteer fire department; (3) serving without compensation as an officially recognized or designated member of a legally organized law enforcement agency of a State or political subdivision of a State; and (4) injured in the performance of such duties.
