A bill to make it a Federal crime to kill or assault a fireman or law enforcement officer engaged in the performance of his duties when the offender travels in interstate commerce or uses any facility of interstate commerce for such purpose.

Makes it a Federal crime to kill or assault a fireman or law enforcement officer engaged in the performance of his duties when the offender travels in interstate commerce or uses any facility of interstate commerce for such purpose.

Prescribes a penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment or a $10,000 fine, or both for an assault, and imprisonment for any term of years or the death penalty for killing a fireman or lawenforcement officer. Provides similar penalties for a conspiracy to kill or feloniously assault such persons. (Adds 18 U.S.C. 1116)
