Makes it a Federal crime to kill or assault a fireman or law enforcement officer engaged in the performance of his duties when the offender travels in interstate commerce or uses any facility of interstate commerce for such purpose.
Prescribes a penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment or a $10,000 fine, or both for an assault, and imprisonment for any term of years or the death penalty for killing a fireman or lawenforcement officer. Provides similar penalties for a conspiracy to kill or feloniously assault such persons. (Adds 18 U.S.C. 1116)
