Includes as creditable service for purposes of the civil service retirement system periods of service performed in the employ of a State in carrying out a Federal-State cooperative program. Specifies that the individual must have performed Federal functions pursuant to an Act of Congress and under an officially approved Federal-State cooperative plan; been under Federal supervision; been paid for such services from Federal funds; and have at least five years of allowable service.
Requires, as a condition of eligibility under this Act, that the employee must pay into the Federal Civil Service Retirement Fund an amount equal to that which he would have paid into the Fund had he been a Federal employee during his period of service in such cooperative program, plus interest. (Amends 5 U.S.C. 8332)
