A bill to amend title 10 and 37, United States Code, to provide for equality of treatment for military personnel in the application of dependency criteria.

Revises the definition of "dependent" with respect to a member or former member of a uniformed service by removing the present requirement that the husband or unremarried widower be dependent on the member or former member for over one-half of his support. (Amends 10 U.S.C. 1072(2)(c,d)) (Repeals 10 U.S.C. 101(36)) (Amends 37 U.S.C. 401)

Provides that a member of a uniformed service may not be paid an increased allowance on account of a dependent for any period (1) during which that dependent is entitled to basic pay or (2) the spouse of such member is being paid an increased allowance on account of that dependent. (Amends 37 U.S.C. 420)
