Shoreline Erosion Control Demonstration Act - Requires the Secretary of the Army, in cooperation with the Secretary of Agriculture, to establish a five year national shoreline erosion control development and demonstration program consisting of operating control devices, both engineered and vegetative, including development of new dredging techniques for the artificial restoration of beaches.
Provides that both vegetative and low-cost shorelines erosion control devices would be tested on sites along the Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific coasts and along the Great Lakes.
Requires the Secretary of the Army to establish a fifteen member Shoreline Advisory Panel to advise him in carrying out the provisions of this Act.
Requires the Secretary to submit annually a program progress report to the Congress. Provides that the Secretary shall submit a comprehensive evaluation at the conclusion of the five year program.
Authorizes an appropriation of not more than $6,000,000 for fiscal year 1973 and the succeeding four fiscal years to carry out the provisions of this Act.
