A bill to protect the free flow of information to the public, and for other purposes.

States that no person shall be required to disclose any information, or the source thereof, directly received or obtained by him in the process of gathering or the presentation of news or other information solely for public dissemination or distribution unless overwhelming evidence shows that refusal to disclose the information or its source would adversely affect the public safety to a substantial degree.
