A bill to require sprinkling systems to be installed in certain new high-rise buildings, and for other purposes.
High Rise Building Safety Act - Requires any building in any State or in the District of Columbia constructed of more than seven stories to be equipped with a sprinkling systems within 60 days of enactment, and to study the need and cost of installing such sprinkler systems in all stories of all buildings owned by the United States. (Adds 15 U.S.C. 278 f(c))
Prescribes criminal penalties of up to $20,000 and two years imprisonment for failure to comply with this Act.
