To protect the safety and welfare of American workers by providing for a uniform system of identification for all receptacles containing compressed gas.
Compressed Gas Act - Provides for a uniform system of identification for all receptacles containing compressed gas by directing the Interstate Commerce Commission to issue rules and regulations which: (1) prescribe the names of gases which must be used in receptacles of gases; (2) prescribe the manner in which the name must appear; (3) prescribe the color code markings which must be used and the manner they must be displayed in each such receptacle; and (4) set forth the specifications for valves used on such receptacles.
Makes it a crime, punishable by a fine of up to $5,000 and/or imprisonment up to one year, for violations to this Act.
