A bill to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to eliminate certain requirements respecting contributions of State and local governments.

Removes the requirement, under the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act, that at least 40 percent of the non-Federal funding of the cost of any program or project to improve and strengthen law enforcement shall be of money appropriated in the aggregate, by State or individual units of government, for the purpose of the shared funding of such programs or projects. (Amends 42 U.S.C. 3731)

Removes that requirement, under the Act, that States provide at least one-fourth of the non-Federal funding for programs for the improvement of local law enforcement. (Amends 42 U.S.C. 3733)
