A bill to amend title II of the Social Security Act to provide that the surviving spouse of an insured worker may authorize direct payment of the worker's lump-sum death payment to the funeral home for his burial expenses.

Provides that the surviving spouse of an insured worker may authorize direct payment, under title II (Old-Age, Survivors' and Disability Insurance) of the Social Security Act, of the workers' lump-sum death payment to the funeral home for his burial expenses. (Amends 42 U.S.C. 402(i))
