Elderly Americans Drug Abuse Prevention Act - Expresses the finding of Congress that insufficient attention has been paid to the problem of drug abuse and dependency among those older persons who rely on drugs to treat the afflictions of aging.
Directs the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare to create a program designed to educate older persons on the uses and hazards of drugs, through grants to and contracts with agencies, organizations and institutions. Directs the Secretary to study the problem of drug abuse and dependency among older persons and their need for education with respect to such problem, and to report the study results and recommendations to Congress within one year. Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
