Equality Act - Prohibits, under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, discrimination on account of sex, marital status or sexual orientation in places of public accommodation, and under color of State law.
Provides for civil actions by the Attorney General where there is discrimination on account of sex, marital status, or sexual orientation in public facilities or in public education.
Prohibits discrimination on account of sex, marital status, or sexual orientation in federally assisted programs, and in housing sales, rentals, financing, and brokerage services.
Provides penalties for anyone who willfully injures, intimidates or interferes with any person because of his or her sex, marital status or sexual orientation.
Defines the term "sexual orientation" as used in this Act as meaning choice of sexual partner according to gender.
