H.R. 14150 — A bill to amend title XVI of the Social Security Act to provide for emergency assistance grants to recipients of supplemental security income benefits, to authorize cost-of-living increases in such benefits and in State supplementary payments, to prevent reductions in such benefits because of social security benefit increases, to provide reimbursement to States for home relief payments to disabled applicants prior to determination of their disability, to permit payment of such benefits directly to drug addicts and alcoholics (without a third party payee) in certain cases, and to repeal section 411 of the Social Security Amendments of 1972 and certain related provisions of law in order to restore to aged, blind and disabled individuals receiving supplemental security income (under title XVI of the Social Security Act) their rights to participate in the food stamp and surplus commodities programs. | PoliFocus
