Mailing List Regulation Act - Declares that no book club, magazine publishing company, credit card company, department store credit department, fraternal organization, trade association, social organization, credit union, or other similar organization or association, may sell or in any other way release the names and addresses of the members, participants, or subscribers in such organization or association to any individual or business firm engaged in the practice of purchase and resale of such subscription and membership lists for direct mail advertising purposes, unless the member, participant, or subscriber has given knowing and written consent that his name and address may be sold or otherwise released.
Provides that an organization shall be required to state on demand by a subscriber whether such person's name and address have been sold or otherwise released in violation of this Act. (Adds 39 U.S.C. 3012)
