Requires the mandatory imposition of the death penalty for individuals convicted of kidnapping, treason, aircraft piracy, the killing of specified officers or employees of the United States, the use of any facility of interstate or foreign commerce to effect the killing of any law enforcement officer or fireman, or of a conspiracy the object and result of which is the killing of a law enforcement officer or fireman on account of the performance of his official duties.
Provides a term of imprisonment of not more than 10 years, a fine of not more than $10,000, or both for anyone convicted of feloniously assulting or conspiring to feloniously assault any law enforcement officer or fireman on account of the performance of his official duties.
Requires the refusal of bail to any person charged with an offense punishable by death.
Provides that no person who has been convicted of an offense where the mandatory punishment is death shall be released from custody while awaiting sentence or while the case is pending appellate review.
