Revises the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by eliminating the requirement that in prescribing a definition and standard of identity for any food or class of food in which optional ingredients are permitted, the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare shall designate the optional ingredients which shall be named on the label.
Revises the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by providing that food shall not be deemed to be mislabeled if the label does not list the common names of optional ingredients.
