A bill to provide for the collection and assimilation of information on the energy resources of the United States.
Energy Inventory Act - Establishes in the office of the Comptroller General the Office of Energy Information with a Director to be appointed by the President by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.
Directs the Director to prepare an inventory of energy resources in the United States, to include resources, supplies, processing facilities, consumption, and transportation. Requires a report on such inventory within 90 days of enactment and every 60 days thereafter.
Grants the Director authority to gather whatever data he deems necessary and to determine whether it should be kept confidential.
Authorizes appropriation of necessary sums to implement this Act.
