Public Safety Officers Memorial Scholarship Act - Sets forth the definitions of terms used in this Act. Authorizes the United States Commissioner of Education to award a scholarship to any eligible applicant for full-time undergraduate study at an eligible institution. Requires applicants to submit an application and a certification from the head of the agency which employed the public safety officer upon whom the applicant was dependent, stating that such officer was the victim of a homicide while engaged in the performance of his official duties.
Sets the maximum scholarship amount at $3,500. Prescribes additional requirements that the student be full-time and maintain good standing.
Authorizes the Commissioner to enter into agreements with eligible institutions in which any student receiving a scholarship award under this Act has enrolled or is accepted for enrollment. Specifies the content of such agreements.
Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
