National Police Academy Act - Directs the Attorney General to establish and maintain a National Police Academy. States that competitive examinations shall be held annually to select persons for instruction and preparation at the Academy for service in the police departments of the States and their political subdivisions. Allots vacancies in the Academy to each State in proportion to the representation in Congress from that State . Provides for the allotment of four vacancies to the District of Columbia.
Authorizes the Attorney General to provide for the training of cadets at the Academy in cooperation with other Governmental and private agencies.
Authorizes Cadets at the Academy to receive pay and allowances. Provides that training at the Academy shall extend over a four-year period.
Authorizes the Attorney General to confer the degree of bachelor of science upon graduates of the Academy.
Provides for the appointment of a Board of Visitors made up of the United States Senators and five Members of the House of Representatives. Directs such board to visit the Academy annually.
Aurhorizes the Attorney General to appoint an Advisory Board consisting of not more than 7 persons to serve in the Academy without pay.
