Amnesty Act - Grants immunity from prosecution to any person who has evaded or refused registration under the Military Selective Service Act or who has deserted from the Armed Forces between August 4, 1964 and January 27, 1973.
States that any person who has been convicted of or is serving a prison sentence for evading or failing to register under the Military Selective Act or for desertion from the Armed Forces under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for actions which took place between August 4, 1964 and January 27, 1973, shall be released from prison and the remaining protion of any punishment shall be waived.
Authorizes the Attorney General to issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out effectively the provisions of this Act.
Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
