A bill to extend daylight saving time to the entire calendar year for a 2-year period, and for other purposes.
Uniform Time Act Amendments -
Provides that during the two-year period beginning on the effective date of this Act, the standard time of each zone established by law, shall be advanced one hour and such time as so advanced shall be the standard time of such zone during such period; however any State that lies entirely within one time zone may by law exempt itself from the provisions of this Act, but only if that law provides that the entire state shall observe the standard time otherwise applicable. Permits any state with parts thereof in more than one time zone to by law exempt either the entire State as provided in this Act or to exempt the entire area of the State lying within any time zone. Requires the Secretary of Transportation to report to Congress at least six months before the end of the 2 year period made by the Act concerning the effects on the change in the period of daylight made by this Act.
