A bill to raise the amount of the recently enacted cost-of-living increase in social security benefits, and to accelerate the effective date of such increase to January 1974.

Provides for an increase in the monthly benefits and lump-sum death payments payable under title II of the Social Security Act by the percentage by which the Consumer Price Index prepared by the Department of Labor for the month of November 1973 (now June 1973) exceeds such index for the month of June 1972.

Requires such increase to begin in January 1974.
