This bill revises the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to prohibit the use of SNAP benefits to purchase soda. Under the bill, soda means a carbonated beverage that contains more than 1 gram of added sugar, artificial sweetener, or flavoring per serving.
