A BILL
To redesignate the third Monday in February as Presidents' Day, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Presidential Legacy Act''.
SEC. 2. REDESIGNATE THE THIRD MONDAY IN FEBRUARY AS PRESIDENTS' DAY.
Section 6103(a) of title 5, United States Code, is amended by
striking ``Washington's Birthday'' and inserting ``Presidents' Day''.
SEC. 3. TERM ``WASHINGTON'S BIRTHDAY'' REPLACED.
(a) In General.--Except as provided in subsection (b), any
reference to ``Washington's Birthday'' in any law, rule, regulation, or
other official paper in effect as of the date of the enactment of this
Act shall be deemed to be a reference to ``Presidents' Day''.
(b) Conforming Amendments.--
(1) Title 4.--Section 6(d) of title 4, United States Code,
is amended by striking ``Washington's Birthday'' and inserting
``Presidents' Day''.
(2) Federal contested election act.--Section 15(a) of the
Federal Contested Election Act (2 U.S.C. 394(a)) is amended by
striking ``Washington's Birthday'' and inserting ``Presidents'
Day''.
