Fire Island AIDS Memorial Establishment Act
This bill authorizes the establishment of a memorial within the Fire Island National Seashore in New York to honor the residents of Fire Island who died of AIDS.
The memorial may be established and maintained by the Pines Foundation. No federal funds may be used to design, procure, prepare, install, or maintain the memorial. The memorial’s design and location are subject to approval by the Department of the Interior.
Referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and in addition to the Committee on Armed Services, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
