A bill to provide block grants to assign armed law enforcement officers to elementary and secondary schools.
School Guardian Act of 2023
This bill requires the Department of Justice (DOJ) to make grants for states to assign armed law enforcement officers to provide security at elementary and secondary schools.
The bill also requires specified unobligated Internal Revenue Service funds to be transferred to DOJ to implement this bill.
Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
