Strengthening Transparency and Obligations to Protect Children Suffering from Abuse and Mistreatment Act of 2023 or the STOP CSAM Act of 2023
This bill revises the federal framework governing the prevention of online sexual exploitation of children.
Among the changes, the bill broadens the scope of the mandatory reporting requirements, expands legal rights and courts services for minor victims and witnesses who testify, and expands reporting requirements for large electronic communication service providers and remote computing service providers that report instances of online sexual exploitation of children to the CyberTipline.
Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
