To ensure that patients receive accurate health care information by prohibiting misleading and deceptive advertising or representation in the provision of health care services, to require the identification of the license of health care professionals, and for other purposes.
Truth in Healthcare Marketing Act of 2023
This bill prohibits a person from misrepresenting (1) whether the person holds a state health care license; or (2) the person's education, training, degree, license, or clinical expertise.
A person's advertisement for the person's health care services must disclose the license under which the person is authorized to provide those services.
The bill also provides for enforcement by the Federal Trade Commission by requiring a violation of this bill to be treated as an unfair or deceptive act or practice.
