To provide for the appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate and prosecute any charges arising from the activity of signatories to the letter entitled "Public Statement on the Hunter Biden Emails" (October 19, 2020) involving election interference.
Deep State Accountability Act of 2023
This bill requires the Department of Justice to appoint a special counsel to (1) investigate 51 individuals who signed a statement titled Public Statement on the Hunter Biden Emails and dated October 19, 2020; and (2) prosecute any violations by such individuals of a specified voting rights law or other unlawful conduct involving an abuse of power or knowingly engaging in election interference.
