To amend title 23, United States Code, to require that public employees perform construction inspection work for federally funded highway projects, and for other purposes.
Public Inspectors for Safe Infrastructure Act
This bill requires state and local transportation agencies that contract for the construction of federal-aid highways to ensure that a public employee performs the construction inspection functions (such as construction engineering, on-site quality control inspections, and materials testing).
