To support the establishment or expansion and operation of programs using a network of public and private community entities to provide mentoring for children and youth with experience in foster care.
Foster Youth Mentoring Act of 2023
This bill directs the Department of Health and Human Services to award grants for programs that provide mentoring for children in foster care and children with experience in foster care.
Mentoring under such programs must match youth with appropriately screened and trained adult or peer volunteers and involve regular meetings designed to last for at least one year.
