To incentivize innovative transportation corridors to reduce carbon and GHG emissions, to provide a tax structure that allows for certain investments in public transportation systems, and to enable the fossil fuel workforce to transition to sustainable work sectors.
Jobs for a Carbon Free Transportation System Act
This bill provides financial incentives to (1) develop low carbon corridors that connect different methods of transportation, including public transportation systems, rail transportation, and roadways; (2) improve public transportation, mobility, and inclusive economic development; (3) develop commercial and residential areas located near public transportation stations that promote affordable housing and affordable commercial space; and (4) develop plans to transition workers from employment in fossil fuel industries to employment in sustainable industries.
