To amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to provide for wage and economic stabilization in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and for other purposes.
Northern Mariana Islands Wage and Economic Stability Act
This bill delays by 18 months the effective date of an increase in the federal minimum wage with respect to employers in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
It also requires the Government Accountability Office to assess the economy of the territory and estimate the proportion of employees in the territory directly affected by an increase in the minimum wage.
