A bill to amend the National and Community Service Act of 1990 to allow participants in specified service positions to transfer national service educational awards to family members.
Educational Award Parity Act
This bill allows AmeriCorps members who are 55 years of age or older and served in any program, including the National Civilian Community Corps or Volunteers in Service to America, to transfer their national service educational award to a family member. Currently, only members who served in AmeriCorps State and National may transfer such an award.
