To authorize the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to provide funding to public housing agencies for the purpose of providing tenant-based assistance to individuals experiencing an economic crisis or natural disaster, and for other purposes.
Crisis Housing Act of 2020
This bill provides funding to public housing agencies for rental assistance for certain families located in an area that either (1) meets specified unemployment levels, or (2) is subject to a major disaster declaration. The bill designates the funding as emergency spending, which is exempt from discretionary spending limits.
