To require consent for the Director of the United States Marshals Service to deputize certain law enforcement officers, and for other purposes.
Keep Law Enforcement Local Act of 2020
This bill requires the U.S. Marshals Service to obtain consent from the chief executive of the unit of local government prior to deputizing local law enforcement officers. A chief executive may withdraw their consent at any time.
