To provide for a temporary increase in Federal financial participation under the Medicaid program for telehealth services, and for other purposes.
Modernized Medicine Act
This bill increases the Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) for Medicaid telehealth services that are furnished during the public health emergency declared on January 31, 2020, relating to COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019). In order to receive the increased FMAP, state Medicaid programs must provide coverage that is consistent with Medicare coverage of telehealth services.
Referred to the Committee on Appropriations, and in addition to the Committees on the Budget, and Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
