To amend title 28, United States Code, to change the residency requirements for certain officials serving in the District of Columbia, and for other purposes.
District of Columbia Federal Officials Residency Equality Act of 2019
This bill requires U.S. district and circuit court judges, U.S. attorneys, and U.S. marshals who are appointed to serve in the District of Columbia to be residents of the District of Columbia.
Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committees on Oversight and Reform, and Armed Services, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
