Protect Democracy From Criminal Corporations Act
This bill generally prohibits a corporation convicted of a felony involving fraud or dishonesty from contributing to an election campaign. Specifically, a corporation is prohibited from contributing to a campaign for election for federal, state, or local office for 10 years after the corporation (1) is convicted of conspiracy to commit an offense against, or to defraud, the United States or any other felony involving dishonesty or a breach of trust; or (2) enters into an agreement with the Department of Justice to resolve a charge regarding such an offense if the corporation must make a payment equal to or greater than $1 million.
