Authorization for Use of Military Force of 2018
This joint resolution authorizes the President to use all necessary and appropriate force against the Taliban, al Qaeda, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Al Shabaab, Al Qaeda in Syria (including Al Nusrah Front), the Haqqani Network, Al Qaeda in the Islamic Mahgreb, and other non-state associated forces designated by the President. The joint resolution provides for related congressional review and oversight.
The Authorization for Use of Military Force (P.L. 107-40) and the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (P.L. 107-243) are repealed.
