To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to provide the Attorney General certain notifications in certain determinations made by the Secretary of improper prescribing of controlled substances, and for other purposes.
DEA Notification Act of 2018
This bill requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to notify the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) of providers or suppliers that are prohibited from participating in Medicare due to improper prescriptions of controlled substances, and to recommend that the DEA consider revoking certain controlled substance registrations or waivers held by such providers or suppliers.
