To amend the Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act of 1996 to require that the Secretary of Agriculture to require a notice period with respect to certain modifications of assigned yields under the noninsured crop disaster assistance program.
Crop Insurance Fairness Act of 2018
This bill prohibits the Department of Agriculture (USDA) from modifying the method of determining assigned yields for the noninsured crop disaster assistance program unless: (1) USDA provides public notice of the modified method and the method does not apply earlier than the first crop year that is one year after the notice is provided; or (2) the modified method will increase the payment amount of the producer.
