To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide that an alien physician who is coming to the United States to practice medicine in an area designated by the Secretary of Health and Human Services as having a shortage of health care professionals is not required to pass the National Board of Medical Examiners Examination, and for other purposes.
Physician Visa Reform Act of 2018
This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to allow alien physicians who are approved by a state licensing authority to practice medicine in an area having a shortage of health care professionals to engage in medical practice without having to pass the otherwise required medical board examination. The bill also grants such physicians and family members conditional permanent resident status.
